Physics Trip to Bath Uni

On Thursday 20 June, eight year 12 physicists had the opportunity to visit Bath University's
physics labs. They listened to a talk and visited three physics labs, including: an optical fibre
pulling tower facility; a laser and spectroscopy lab; and a nanoscience lab. In the afternoon,
they participated in hands-on experiments from an undergraduate practical workshop. This
included x-ray diffraction, hydrogen spectography, gyroscopes and the photoelectric effect.
