Abbey Choir Tour to Paris

Gavin (Year 10) and Joseph (Year 8) were part of the Bath Abbey Choir’s recent tour to Paris, the first time that the Boys’ Choir has toured to Paris. The four day tour included a packed schedule, beginning with a service of Evensong in an underground chapel, Notre-Dame-Sous-Terre, and followed by a joint concert with the Maitrise du college Stanislas at Notre-Dame-des-Champs, a church built on an iron frame designed by Gustave Eiffel.

The highlight of the tour was singing mass at both Saint-Sulpice and Saint-Eustache, the two largest churches in Paris after Notre-Dame. The choir was rewarded with rounds of applause from both congregations (rare during a service), and future invitations to return, reflecting the outstanding level at which the Choir performs.
